In this step, we will install vanilla-friendly graphical enhancements and others mods to enhance the visual experience of Vvardenfell.

Creating a Separator in MO2

  • Right-click the empty space in the left pane of MO2 and select Create Separator.

  • Name the separator Visuals.

  • Main Files - Animation Blending

Adds animation blending to Morrowind, enabling smooth transitions between animations.

  • Main Files - Morrowind Enhanced Textures 6.1

  • Optional Files - MET Meshes

Replaces almost all textures in the vanilla game and its expansions with high resolution AI upscales.

  • Right-click Project Atlas under your Bug Fixes separator, then click Reinstall Mod.

  • You will be prompted with a FOMOD installer.

    • Click the Manual button to the bottom left. This will let you install the mod as a BAIN installer.

    • Right-click the 01 Textures - MET folder, and Set as <data files> directory.

    • Rename the mod to Project Atlas - MET Patch, and click OK.

  • Main Files - Familiar Faces

An in-depth yet completely vanilla friendly touch up of every head and almost every hair in the game. Also fixes distortion and clipping issues with body meshes.

  • Main Files - kart_facelift_meshes

  • Main Files - kart_facelift_textures

Vanilla-friendly touch up of every head in the game, minus Khajiit and Argonians. Overwrites the meshes from Familiar Faces for a closer to vanilla experience.

  • Main Files - Better Rope Bridges

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select both options and click Ok.

Replaces the gross vanilla rope bridges with better quality ropes.

  • Main Files - Mist Retexture

  • Install the downloaded archive using manual install in MO2.

Improves the texture for the mist, and makes it play much nicer with SSAO.

  • Main Files - Subtle Smoke Main File

Makes it so many smoke effects are much more laid back and easier on the eyes.

  • Main Files - Subtle Magic Glow

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select fade and click Ok.

Replaces the "plastic wrap" effect around in-game magic items (those equipped by characters or on the ground) with a non-moving effect that fades in and out.

  • Main Files - Better Waterfalls

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select Core and click Ok.

New effects and textures for the waterfalls. Includes LOD on the particle effects to improve performance.

  • Main Files - Waterfalls Tweaks

Resizes waterfall splashes to reduce clipping and removes unnatural lights from waterfalls in interiors.

  • Main Files - Bitter Coast Scum Replacer

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select only the following options and click Ok:

Replaces swamp scum using the animation method and edited textures of Tamriel Rebuilt's water statics and Pherim's Vanilla-Friendly Scum Texture.

  • Main Files - Vivec Palace Water Replacer

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select only the following options and click Ok:

Replaces the water in the Palace of Vivec's canals using the animation method and textures of Tamriel Rebuilt's water statics.

  • Main Files - Improved Cave Pools

Replaces the static water in the cave pools using the animation method and textures of Tamriel Rebuilt's water statics.

  • Main Files - I Lava Good Mesh Replacer

  • You will be prompted with a FOMOD installer.

    • Check the Lava and Hot Oil replacers, and click Install.

Fixes flickering on lava. Reduces the occurrence of seams found in large lava pools. Adds performance friendly spark particle effects to lava pools.

  • Main Files - Watch the Skies 5.0.0

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select only the following options and click Ok:

A weather overhaul with randomised cloud textures, weather changes in interiors, seasonal weather, latitude/season changes, and more.

  • Main Files - Window to Aetherius

Replaces the night sky using MWSE with one that changes every month over the course of the game year. On day one of every month, the prime constellation will be visible on the eastern horizon and fades away to the next month's constellation as the month progresses.

Visual weather editor which allows for user-made presets.

Configurable mod for automatical adjustment of lighting, including override values, cell whitelist, and light object editing.

  • Right-click on the installed mod and select Open in Explorer

  • Navigate to MWSE\mods\RFD\LetThereBeDarkness, and double-click main.lua

  • Using Notepad++, write -- at the start of line 415. This will remove the LiveLightEditing functionality, which conflicts with one of the keybindings from Security Enhanced

  • Save the edited text file.

  • Main Files - Transporter Lights

Caravaners, Gondoliers, and Shipmasters equip light at night for more immersion.

  • Main Files - Glow in the Dahrk

  • You will be prompted with a FOMOD installer:

    • Select the MGE XE Game Engine.

    • Select the Hi-Res Window Texture Replacer Optional file.

    • Select the Raven Rock Glass Windows Optional file.

    • Select the Nord Glass Windows Optional file.

    • Select the MGE XE Telvanni Tower Interior Glow.

    • Click Install.

Makes vanilla windows glow in the dark.

  • Right-click Project Atlas under your Bug Fixes separator, then click Reinstall Mod.

  • You will be prompted with a FOMOD installer.

    • Click the Manual button to the bottom left. This will let you install the mod as a BAIN installer.

    • Right-click the 06 Glow in the Dahrk Patch folder, and Set as <data files> directory.

    • Rename the mod to Project Atlas - GITD Patch, and click OK.

  • Main Files - Nords shut your windows

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select only the following options and click Ok:

Nord windows have a wooden shutter, open in the day and closed at night.

  • Main Files - ILFAS

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select both options and click Ok.

Adjusts every vanilla light mesh to enhance the effects of other shader and lighting mods.

  • Right-click Project Atlas under your Bug Fixes separator, then click Reinstall Mod.

  • You will be prompted with a FOMOD installer.

    • Click the Manual button to the bottom left. This will let you install the mod as a BAIN installer.

    • Right-click the 08 ILFAS Patch folder, and Set as <data files> directory.

    • Rename the mod to Project Atlas - ILFAS Patch, and click OK.

  • Main Files - Near Vanilla Road Sign Replacer

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select only the following options and click Ok:

Makes road signs legible. Uses high resolution vanilla-friendly textures.

  • Main Files - Know Thy Ancestors

Every Ancestral Tomb in Vvardenfell has a unique banner displaying the family name in Daedric.

  • Main Files - Immersive Grotto Entrances - Vanilla Version

A replacement of doors with natural passages to serve as entrances and exits for grottos.

  • Main Files - Remiros' Groundcover

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer, here select only the following options and click Ok:

  • After installation, disable the mod's plugins in your load order (those starting with Rem_). These plugins should not be enabled during normal gameplay.

  • We will finish installation in the Distant Land section.

Adds groundcover to almost all regions.

  • Main Files - Yet Another Guard Diversity - Regular

Replaces generic copy-pasted guards with a variety of more unique-looking guards.

  • Main Files - WeaponSheathing1.6-MWSE

  • You will be asked to select a data directory. Right-click Data Files -> Set as data files directory -> OK.

  • Also install Weapon Sheathing Additions

    • Main Files - Weapon Sheathing Additions

Equipped weapons will be shown on player and NPCs' hips or backs. Additionally features a comprehensive set of high quality quiver and scabbard assets. The additional files improve the position of sheathed bows, and increase the amount of weapons covered by the mod.

  • Right-click Morrowind Optimization Patch under your Bug Fixes separator, then click Reinstall Mod.

  • You will be prompted with a BAIN installer. Rename the mod to MOP - Weapon Sheathing Patch, then select only the following option and click Ok:

  • Download the mod and install through MO2.

Adds the unused forearm joint to the Orcish Pauldrons, Dwemer Pauldrons, and the three types of Bonemold Pauldrons, and modifies the Dwemer, Daedric, Chitin and Netch greaves and pauldron to prevent them showing clothing underneath.

  • Main Files - Alex's Better Fitted Female Armors v.1.3

  • Main Files - Alex's Better Fitted Female Armors - Tribunal

Gives all cuirasses female variants that fits the hips and waist more and makes armors less bulky.

  • Main Files - Properly Fitted Female Pants

Adds female variants to all the pants in vanilla Morrowind by recombining the assets from the vanilla game.
